Define Pumping Versus Cleaning
Ask whether the proposal includes pumping, controlled wash-down, access excavation and disposal. A cleaning line item does not automatically include a separate pump-out. Deep cleaning or wall jetting is an additional scope when suitable.
Protect the Tank Material
Concrete, fiberglass and polyethylene shells need methods appropriate to their condition. Fragile covers, damaged seams and deteriorated partitions deserve an assessment before aggressive cleaning. More pressure is not always the right answer.
Check Outlets and Filters
A blocked outlet filter or damaged baffle can allow recurring trouble even after deposits are removed. Accessible outlet parts should be considered alongside the cleaning. Repair and replacement of damaged components are separate decisions.
Extra Care for Advanced Systems
Palm Bay projects may include approved nutrient-reducing equipment. Identify the treatment model and maintenance instructions before servicing it. A general wash-down should not disturb media, controls or treatment components that need model-specific maintenance.
Commercial Grease and Waste Strength
Describe whether the business has domestic wastewater, food-service grease or both. Volume, waste characteristics, access and approved disposal affect the work. Do not pour solvents or concentrated grease into a septic system.
